Together for smart cities: the EnCLOD partners in Žilina

On 25 and 26 September 2024, the second meeting of the partners of the international EnCLOD project took place in Žilina, representing a significant milestone. Representatives from across Europe reviewed the progress of the pilot activities, shared best practices and outlined the next steps towards using open data for more efficient urban governance.

A highlight of the programme was a workshop focusing on innovative applications of open data, with an emphasis on the CleverNET Urban Living Lab. The CleverNET project, presented by Karol Hrudkay (UVP UNIZA) and Vojtěch Giesl (CITIQ), represents a revolutionary approach to urban governance in Žilina through a network of sensors monitoring traffic, climate conditions and the use of public spaces.

This innovative project, which has the potential to inspire other cities, is transforming urban governance and demonstrating the power of open data in practice.
